  • The action of solving a problem (the problem has been resolved).
  • The process of reducing or separating something into its components.
  • the smallest interval measurable by an optical instrument, the resolving power.

And the origin of resolution which is from the Latin resolvere ” to loosen or release”

Goals:

Objective, aim, end, target, design, intention, intent, purpose, ambition, aspiration, wish, dream, desire, hope.

Sounds like the same thing to me!
